Nominate her NOWAwardees will be selected through a rigorous process involving a combination of consultations, due diligence and work by an Awards Selections Jury.
The first step will involve an invitation for nominations from the general public and widespread consultations with a number of executives of organized women’s groups, professional and business associations, civil society groups and selected journalists who cover the activities from which our award categories are derived. These consultations will be done under strict confidentiality to protect the integrity of the process used to derive the nominations for awards.
The next step will involve verification of the nominations and due diligence on the activities, conduct and achievements of all nominees, done by independent consultants whom we will specifically contract for this purpose. From this exercise a shortlist of nominees will be derived.
Finally, a specially constituted Awards Selection Jury, comprising representation from both the organizers and from certain carefully selected individuals, will meet to discuss the shortlisted nominations and decide on the most deserving in each award category. The Jury will be mandated to not only consider the aforementioned criteria, but also whether a nominee’s accomplishments and contributions have been recognized by the public or not.
In selecting awardees, the following criteria will be the primary considerations:
• Personal and professional integrity and exempla5ry conduct on both levels;
• Professional accomplishment;
• Contributions to the development of the economy and to society as a whole;
• The level of public awareness and recognition already received.
